The hit drama 'Black Mirror' is coming back, with big help from Netflix!
According to Radio Times, Netflix has made a deal with Charlie Brooker so that the creator and his production company House of Tomorrow can work on more 'Black Mirror' episodes. Sources who were involved in the negotiations have also revealed that Brooker has already written scripts for the next season.
It is no surprise that Netflix is interested in 'Black Mirror.' The streaming giant has previously aired episodes from the drama, which was originally shown on Channel 4. The dark satirical show, which has featured an amazing number of talents like Hayley Atwell, Domnhall Gleeson, Toby Kebbell and Jon Hamm, became a hit when word about its stunning episodes spread throughout the internet.
The first season of 'Black Mirror' premiered in 2011 while the second season followed by 2013. A special episode, titled 'White Christmas,' was released in 2014 and featured Jon Hamm playing a man who has a three-part story to tell.
Charlie Brooker has always been interested in pursuing more episodes for 'Black Mirror,' and has even considered making a full-length film.
"I'd love to make a film ultimately," Brooker told Radio Times. "There's been quite a few episodes where we thought 'God, you could do a feature-length version of this quite easily'. 'White Bear,' 'Fifteen Million Merits' come to mind - 'Be Right Back' as well actually. There were lots of ideas we had to leave out."
The showrunner did admit he needs to find a good story to tell first.
"It just depends on it being the right sort of story," Brooker said. "Usually 45 minutes, once you knock the ads out, feels about the right length for those sort of stories."
There is no word yet on when the new season of 'Black Mirror' will air on Netflix.
