Ellen DeGeneres to Caitlyn: You Don't Understand Gay Marriage!

After coming out as a transgender, Caitlyn Jenner appeared on her first ever talk show interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

From what transpired with Caitlyn Jenner's interview with Ellen DeGeneres, she seemed to have mixed views on same-sex marriage. The world-famous Olympian (formerly known as Bruce Jenner) told the lesbian talk show host about her stand on the issue having conservative views on the topic of same sex marriage, which she does not support due to her "Republican" status.

She told Ellen, "I'm a traditionalist," with regard to her perspective of dissing the idea. "I'm older than most people in the audience. I kind of like tradition, and it's always been a man and a woman. I'm thinking, 'I don't quite get it.'

Although in the course of their conversation, she slightly shifted from what she previously said - but still appears to be confused of the whole idea.

"I think, like a lot of people on this issue, I have really changed my thinking here to, 'I don't ever want to stand in front of anybody's happiness.' That's not my job, okay? If that word - 'marriage' - is really, really that important to you, I can go with it."

But according to Advocate, that word "marriage" is important to Ellen, who is married to actress Portia di Rossi. "Someday I hope it won't be called a contract, it'll be called 'marriage,'" as she boldly told then presidential nominee John McCain when he was Ellen's guest in 2008.

The talk show host didn't quite reacted on what Jenner said on her show, until her radio interview with The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM. She finds the reality show actress' statement quite confusing, "She still has a judgement about gay marriage. ... I said, 'You're wanting people to understand and accept you - this is like, really confusing to people. And you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage,'" DeGeneres also joked about Caitlyn's lack of desire to dance with her on the show. "I don't think she's a dancer... Maybe she didn't wanna dance with me because I'm a lesbi," she quipped.

"I'm grateful that she was on the show. And I don't really know her and I'm trying to understand it because I don't fully understand it either - but I also want everyone to be happy. So I don't fully understand all of that, but I want her to be happy - which is what I want for her [to want] for me," Ellen said, according to Huffington Post.

As of press time, Caitlyn Jenner has not yet reacted to the said issue.
