Since announcing their split last month, Kermit and Miss Piggy have wasted no time seeing other people. Kermit was spotted with a new pig named Denise last week, and now Miss Piggy has apparently moved on with none other than Josh Groban.
It turns out that when 'The Muppets' premieres on ABC in September 2015, Josh will be Miss Piggy’s love interest.
“Piggy is in a foul mood,” Executive Producer Bill Prady spoke to ETOnline and explained how this power couple came to be. “So her ex-boyfriend, Kermit, decides that the best way to calm everything down is to essentially fix Piggy up with somebody, and he does it by going to that list they had when they were a couple — the free pass list.”
The “free pass list” is a list of celebrity crushes with whom a significant other would be allowed to cheat if the opportunity ever arose. Everyone knows that Miss Piggy will never settle for less than the best, so it’s likely all the hottest and richest guys in Hollywood!
Since Josh is on Miss Piggy’s list, Kermit books him on their show, 'Up Late with Miss Piggy.' But Kermit quickly ends up regretting that decision.
Apparently, Josh’s presence is not all romance and charm, he and Kermit bash heads when it comes to creative control of their new program 'Up Late with Miss Piggy.' She’s starting to want input from her new man, and not a certain green frog.
This isn’t the first time Josh has worked with the Muppets. In May, he and violinist Lindsey Stirling teamed up with the gang for the “Pure Imagination” music video. Josh also appeared in 2014’s 'Muppets Most Wanted.'
With Groban, The Muppets already includes an impressive list of celebrity guest stars, including Reese Witherspoon, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, and Imagine Dragons.
The Muppets premieres on ABC on Tuesday, September 22 at 8 pm.
