'Game of Thrones' viewers may have been a bit surprised when Daario Naharis was suddenly recasted in Season Four. Ed Skrein had initially portrayed Daenerys Targaryen's favorite sellsword in the third season, but by the next season, Michiel Huisman took over the role.
Ed Skrein has finally broken his silence about his disappearance from 'Game of Thrones.' The 'Transporter: Refueled' star spoke to Digital Spy to reveal he didn't leave the show for meatier movie roles.
"It wasn't as straightforward a decision as it's been made out in the press," Skrein said. "In a lot of ways I would have loved to have carried on and stayed working on that, because it's a fantastic TV series."
The British actor did confirm that he did not regret leaving the show.
"I always roll with the way things are, so as soon as one decision happens you just realign and move on and make another decision," Skrein said. "I never really look back, so if I do look back, I look back with such fondness and great memories of working with an incredible team."

Ed Skrein also admitted that he is still in contact with his 'Game of Thrones' costars.
"I've made a lifelong friend in Jacob Anderson, who plays Grey Worm," Skrein revealed.
Although he still speaks with his costars, Ed Skrein admits he hasn't seen the show since his departure. However, he does plan to binge-watch 'Game of Thrones' in its entirety.
"When it's finished, I'll get the box set and I'll have a 'Game of Thrones' month, and that'll be fantastic," Skrein said. "That'll be really exciting."
In addition to nabbing the lead role in 'The Transporter: Refueled,' Ed Skrein will also appear as the villainous Ajax in the upcoming Marvel flick 'Deadpool.'
'The Transporter: Refueled' was released on September 4, while 'Deadpool' will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
