Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, the drink which is a seasonal favorite at Starbucks, doesn’t go on sale officially until September 8, but some die-hard fans can get their hands around a steaming PSL early, beginning on September 4.
The official Twitter account for the drink, @TheRealPSL, tweeted instructions which said that after you add your password, you'll put in your phone number to get a text with a picture to show your barista.
For thos who can't wait for September 8 to get the popular Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, they can get one early by just jumping online at the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte's very own website, PSLFanPass.com and enter the not-so-secret password "pumpkin."
From there PSL lovers will be asked to input their phone number to get a text with a fanpass to show a barista at a Starbucks store.
Earlier this summer, the coffee giant announced that Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte would be made with real pumpkin and without caramel coloring.
It’s a big change for Starbucks, but the revised Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte makes a lot of sense. The chain was getting more and more criticism for not having real pumpkin in the popular drink, and considering the way PSL blew up last year, the time was right to reformulate.
“After hearing from customers and partners about ingredients, we took another look at this beverage and why we created it so many years ago,” Peter Dukes, director of espresso and brewed coffee for Starbucks, said in a statement.
“It was simple — espresso, perfectly steamed milk, warm fall spices with delicious flavor of pumpkin pie that reminds you of the cool, crisp days of autumn. It’s the Pumpkin Spice Latte our customers have loved all along.”
Before the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte was made available, Starbucks launched a limited-time-only Strawberry Shortcake and Blackberries and Creme Frappuccinos, dubbed as the 'last sip of summer.'
