Singer-songwriter, Justin Bieber, who although went through several issues in his personal life and career, is again hitting the music charts as his latest single "What Do You Mean?" reached a new record on the streaming service Spotify as of Friday, August 28.
Reports say that Bieber's 'What Do You Mean?' has been streamed more than 21 million times during its first week, surpassing the previous record of 20 million streams set last month by the four-piece British boy band, One Direction for their song 'Drag Me Down', which happens to be the band's first single since Zayn Malik's exit.
The Canadian superstar's new single has received an increase in playback, as noted by Spotify, following his performance in this year's MTV VMAs event, where he performed two songs, including "What Do You Mean?"
Besides feeding the social media by his recent success in the music industry, Bieber has also gained more attention from the people on social media after he cried towards the last part of VMAs performance.
Bieber was asked about the crying incident during his one-on-one chatting with TV host Jimmy Fallon and said that he was actually touched by the amount of support he got from the Los Angeles crowd, saying that he was unforgettably booed back in 2013 while performing during the Billboards Awards event.
"It was so overwhelming for me, everything - just the performance. I missed some cues, so I was a little disappointed at that, and just everyone and just their support." He said.
He went on saying, "I was, honestly - let me breathe for a second - I just wasn't expecting them to support me in the way they did. Last time I was at an awards show, I was booed."
Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean?' will appear on his next album, which is expected to be out on November 13.
