Tesla founder and tech mogul Elon Musk has recently announced the possible release window for the Model 3, the highly anticipated wallet friendly model from the electric car manufacturer.
Priced at approximately $35,000, the Model 3 is by no means a cheap automobile, but when compared to the $71,000 asking price of the company's current flagship Model S, it offers a solid option for buyers, hungry to buy into the Tesla brand.
Those looking to purchase a Model 3 have quite a bit of time to save up, as Musk announced on Twitter that production on the automobile would not start for around two years. He mentions that the long wait time is due to the fact that the car will be developed at Tesla's new battery producing 'gigafactory' in Nevada, which is still under construction.
Model 3, our smaller and lower cost sedan will start production in about 2 years. Fully operational Gigafactory needed.

If you want to reserve your slot for a Model 3, Musk says in a separate tweet that you can begin preordering in March 2016, a date that also marks the cars official unveiling.
@elonmusk $35k price, unveil in March, preorders start then. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 2, 2015
Musk also revealed some tidbits about the upcoming 'Model X' SUV. This car will be considerably more expensive than the Model 3, with a price tag approximately five thousand dollars more than that of the Model S.
With same options, Model X is $5k more than an S due to greater size & body complexity. Sig Series is fully loaded, hence high price.
