Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder's picture-perfect wedding was held in late April, but only limited snapshots were publicized. However, new photos and other wedding details from their big day are now exclusively featured in Brides Magazine's October/November issue, reports say.
The 27-year old 'Twilight' actress, whom Somerhalder described as the sexiest thing he first sees in the morning, looked extremely stunning with her custom ivory fishtail gown designed by the LA-based fashion designer, Claire Pettibone.
"Claire was an absolute dream to work with," Nikki told Brides. "Not only is she an amazing designer, but she has the most wonderful energy. We were on the same page from the moment we met."
Nikki added that she and Ian Somerhalder had always wanted their wedding to be small but intimate with just the two of them and their loved ones. She said "We didn't want our loved ones to show up with any expectations or squeezed into formal attire."
As for their wedding venue, Nikki and Ian's wedding ceremony took place at the Topanga Canyon situated in California.
The happy couple had always 'wanted a Louisiana barbecue feel with food stations and a dance floor' for their closest family and friends. Nikki went on to say, "It really was all about the food, the dancing, and the love."
Talking about dancing that would require great music, the new Mr. and Mrs. Somerhalder enlisted the services of musician Ellis Hall. "Ellis Hall sang the night away," Nikki said. "Live music is so important to us, and we couldn't imagine anyone but Ellis there with us."
Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder got engaged in mid-January. After they tied the knot in April, it was actually not too surprising that their marriage was off to a great start, following their new life post-honeymoon which Ian shared in one of his interviews.
The TVD actor said that their life as newlyweds was just 'amazing', adding, 'It's the best time I've ever had.'
