Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Is Expanding To Taiwan

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp has signed an agreement with Huan Hsin Co., Ltd to create 10 Krispy Crème locations in Taiwan for the next 5 years. The President of Huan Hsin Co, explained that doughnuts are very popular in Taiwan and he expects the market to grow quickly for Krispy Kreme.

The well known doughnut franchise seems to be experiencing a thrust of growth; the company is also expanding into India. This is great news for doughnut lovers. Back in 2005, the company experienced a plummet in their total revenue due to the Atkins Diet. At this particular time, it was one of the most popular diets for peopling trying to lose weight. It advocated a diet that was low in carbohydrates yet high in protein. Those individuals are trying to decrease their pant size or simply enjoy a healthy lifestyle are well aware that doughnuts are a high caloric food that do not possess any nutritional purpose. In 2005, the CEO of the company opted to close down the restaurants that were not achieving their sales goals in order to avoid bankruptcy.

In America, the doughnuts can also be purchased at certain gas stations and grocery stores. The company earns a significant amount of their revenue because of this. Their main competitor, Dunkin Donuts only offers their products at their shops.

Recently, they added a cookies & kreme cake doughnut to their menu which is filled with Oreo cookies. These new doughnuts have plenty of vanilla icing and Oreo shavings on top. They are much different than their traditional sugar glazed ones. They are also offering mini sized doughnuts at limited locations. They come in the flavors original glazed, chocolate iced and chocolate iced with sprinkles. These are a great item to have at children's parties or for those that want to enjoy something sweet without worrying about obtaining too many calories.

Krispy Kreme is estimated to do quite well in Taiwan due to the popularity of the doughnut in their country and growing trend of the brand across the globe. Maybe the company will regain some of their popularity in The United States.
