Coca Cola Gives Promising Students Scholarships

Coca Cola is a company that prides itself on promoting the importance of education. According to the Coca Cola's Scholar website, every year they provide 50 scholarships of $20,000 and 200 scholarships of $10,000. The application process is quite simple and can be done online. The first section asks the student's biological information, the second their school activities, the third wants to know how they are involved with their community and the fourth asks their academic information. There is also a fifth section which asks for their employment history.

Their mission is to provide scholarship programs and alumni enrichment opportunities in support of exceptional peoples' thirst for knowledge and their desire to make a difference in the world. Today, Camdenton High School Senior, Kyle Gulshen was chosen as one of the 250 Finalists in the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. This is a huge honor for him. There were over 100,000 applicants and approximately 2,200 semifinalists.

The application process is quite simple but the wait is extensive due to how many applications the company receives. There are rules for applying; potential applicants must be attending high school (they could also be getting homeschooled), they must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be planning to attend an accredited United States University.

The Coca Cola Scholarship Foundation has close ties with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Phi Theta Kappa happily rewards intelligent students with scholarships. They also help students with the transitioning of leaving the classroom and going in to the "real", world. They do this by allowing their members to connect with alumni through social media networking. This can help their members obtain jobs quickly after graduating. The job market is currently scarce therefore new graduates need as much help as they can get landing a job post college.

The foundation does a wonderful job at helping future college students pay for their schooling.  Kyle Gulshen is a well rounded individual. He is a high school senior that has accomplished a lot in his 18 years. According to his Discuss Awards profile, he began playing the piano when he was 6 years old, as a sophomore he earned a 36 composite score on the ACT and was extremely involved in the Robotics club. Coca Cola will continue to make students and their families happy.
