It came to no surprise that Kanye West's speech for his Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV VMAs on Sunday evening included a few jabs here and there.
It actually seems confusing as to how Justin Timberlake got included in the picture. Thankfully, Pop Sugar broke everything down - and made perfect sense out of Kanye West's speech.
Kanye West first took to apologize for his infamous "Imma Let You Finish" mishap at the 2009 MTV VMAs.
Taylor Swift and Kanye West showed everyone that they've buried the hatchet, since it was Taylor Swift who presented him with his Video Vanguard Award.
He went on to explain what transpired that night, and reflected on if he would have done the same thing today, now that he's been a changed man with a daughter. Kanye West then started to explain that "he is a defender of artists."
Yeezy said: "The contradiction is: I do fight for artists, but in that fight I somehow was disrespectful to artists. I didn't know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing."
He continued, "I just... sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Cee-Lo lose. Gnarls Barkley and the "Future Sex" album... Justin, I ain't trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking like, he deserves to win album of the year."
It's pretty clear that Kanye West wasn't in fact trying to fire shots on Justin Timberlake, but was in fact defending the fact that he should've won an award in the 2007 Grammys.
But what did Justin have to say about all of these comments? Justin Timberlake took to express his thoughts on Twitter, first posting: "Kanye is so cute, y'all."
People didn't see Kanye West's speech as something positive, but as a jab. Justin Timberlake then sent a follow up tweet saying, "Jokes, you guys... Jokes. #chill."
It was pretty clear that at the time of the previously posted tweets, Justin Timberlake wasn't able to watch Kanye West's full speech.
But after doing so, he went back on Twitter to say, "Btw... I JUST watched my man 'Ye's FULL speech... He always has a point. And I support it. #truth."
Glad there's no bad blood there! Watch Yeezy's full speech below.
