Final Fantasy XV Unveils New Trailer, Confirms Release Date For 2016

At PAX East 2015, Square Enix showed off a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV, their long in development action RPG and the latest instalment in the legendary game franchise. The big news however, was the fact that the company confirmed that the game would be coming sometime next year, with an official reveal of the final date set to be unveiled at a Final Fantasy themed even in March 2016.

The five minute clip they released was light on action, but did a good job of showcasing the game's new driving mechanics, a first for the series. The game will allow players to take control of the 'Regalia' a convertible four-seater car that will serve as the main mode of transport for the game's four main characters.

Players will have the choice of either driving manually, or having the AI automatically guide them to their chosen destination. The game has a host of different camera angles gamers can use to experience the scenery while driving. The trailer also shows off the many things players can discover while on the open road. The Regalia can be stopped at any time so players can pull over to check something out.

Earlier this year, Square Enix released Episode Duscae a short playable demo of Final Fantasy XV that came bundled with the release of Final Fantasy Type-0. There were no driving segments in that small slice of gameplay, but it looks to be a major part of the final release.

Final Fantasy XV is easily one of the most anticipated games in the industry right now. It seems the end of the road is finally in sight and it won't be much longer before gamers can get a chance to play it.
