The first music service with High Fidelity sound quality - 'Tidal,' puts the blame on the American multinational technology company Apple, as they supposedly blocked the performance of Drake during the Tidal's livestream of a New Orleans charity concert on Saturday.
Tidal livestream is technically co-owned by Jay Z as well as other professional musicians. A representative from Tidal said that Apple went beyond their limits in guarding its partnership with the Canadian rapper, singer and songwriter - Drake.
Contrary to the accusation of Tidal , Drake's manager Future the Prince, the tech giant Apple representative said that they did not shut down the performance of Drake in the TIDAL stream on Lil Wayne's Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans.
Future the Prince said in a statement that what he made was a "business decision," and in that, the manager said that Apple does not have the right to block a stream of any of Drake's performances.
Future the Prince stated, "The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal stream has nothing to do with Apple or Drake's deal," Future the Prince also said, "Point blank, 100%. I made a business decision. Apple doesn't have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The only people that have the power to do that are Cash Money and Universal, and they're our partners."
In a report, the New York Post said that, Tidal was threatened by Apple with a $20 million lawsuit, in protecting the Apple's streaming music service - Apple Music, in which the upcoming album of Drake will be exclusively released. On the contrary, BuzzFeed News reported that, Apple had no intention whatsoever, to file such lawsuit, "it supposedly didn't even know that the event was going on."
A representative of the Tidal stated, "We have all the email receipts and written correspondence that took place with the said, blocked performance," Tidal representative also stated, "That being said we choose to keep it classy. Great show to all the performers. Great performance Wayne. God Bless New Orleans. 10 years stronger."
