'Hannibal' Recap: Bryan Fuller Talks About Bedelia's Fate! Did Lecter Get To Her, And Is There A Possible Season 4?

The NBC series 'Hannibal' has finally come to a shocking end full of twists, blood and a glorious consummation of the relationship between Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). After the intricately organized mayhem and gore was a scene that featured a sedated Bedelia du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) seated at the dinner table, awaiting an unseen host to serve her severed leg.

'Hannibal' creator Bryan Fuller spoke to TVLine about what will happen to Bedelia, as well as the dynamics of the relationship between Lecter and Will. He also teased about the future of the series after the NBC cancellation. Could the fourth season air in a different network?

But first of all, what happened to Bedelia in the post-credits scene in the 'Hannibal' season finale?

Bryan Fuller explained that he enjoys adding post-credits scenes, and that this was the best way to tease about the future.

"By coming back in and seeing Bedelia at a dinner table being served her own leg, grabbing a fork and hiding it under the table and preparing to stab it in the neck of the next person who comes into the room, that's a great way to tell the audience, 'Yes, we have told you completion to this story, but who is serving Bedelia that leg? Is it Hannibal? Did he survive? Is it Uncle Robert is, and is David Bowie behind that curtain? Who's serving her the leg?'" Fuller said.

The showrunner also confirmed that it ain't over till the cannibal gets another dinner date, or until he himself meets his end.

"It's not over until I'm dead, as far as I'm concerned," Fuller said. He expressed an interest in continuing the adventures of Hannibal Lecter through another season but with a new network or possibly making a full-length spin-off film. But Fannibals are warned that it will not be happening soon.

"The fans are going to have to be very patient," Fuller said. "It's going to be at least a year."

Bryan Fuller will be working as co-showrunner for the upcoming series adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel 'American Gods.'
