At 93 years of age, the star of "Golden Girls" and the recently finished "Hot in Cleveland" shows no sign of wanting to slow down in her long and successful career, and she has recently announced an appearance on one beloved show, as Betty White's "Bones" role is confirmed.
There have been a number of interns (or "squinterns," as David Boreanaz's character calls them) on "Bones" since the first one, Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) turned out to be working with serial killer Gormogon; now, one beloved television actress joins the ranks of squinterns in Betty White's "Bones" appearance.
According to USA Today, the actress herself confirmed Betty White's "Bones" involvement, as she took to her Twitter account (which boasts an impressive 1.23 million followers) to share the news with the world, as she's set to appear in one episode of the show's 11th season.
"Wanted to let you know first that I will be joining the @BONESonFOX family for an upcoming episode this fall! #Bones," went Betty White's "Bones" announcement on Twitter.
TV Line reports that Betty White's "Bones" character is called Dr. Beth Mayer, and she's an "accomplish, sharp" squintern who's brought in to work with Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) as her help is required to a murder linked with fantasy football, which is apparently one of the character's multiple areas of expertise.
White's character has been working on the field of forensics for over five decades and she's considered one of the top people in the business, which of course will post some serious competition for Bones herself, so that's definitely something to look forward.
According to Entertainment Weekly, besides White's role, it seems like Fox has a few more surprises under its belt for the show's new season, as there will also be a crossover with "Sleepy Hollow," so there might also be a Halloween theme in the works.
We can't wait to see Betty White's "Bones" appearance!
