'Fear The Walking Dead' Star Frank Dillane Talks About Playing An Addict During The Zombie Apocalypse And Working With Dad Stephen Dillane Of 'Game Of Thrones'

Fans of the spinoff series 'Fear The Walking Dead' may have taken a look at Nick Clark and thought they have seen him somewhere before. Frank Dillane, who plays the heroin addict in the show, has previously appeared in the Netflix sci-fi drama 'Sense8' and has also been seen as the young Tom Marvolo Riddle in 'Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.'

Frank Dillane recently spoke with The New York Times, where he talked about his character's issues in 'Fear The Walking Dead.'

"His father died, which informs a lot," Dillane said. "With the absence of a father, anything goes, doesn't it? And his girlfriend was the first person to get infected. He doesn't have much to live for."

Speaking of fathers, Frank Dillane also happens to have a famous one in 'Game of Thrones' actor Stephen Dillane, who played Stannis Baratheon in the first five seasons of the HBO show. The Dillanes have previously worked together in the independent movie 'Papadopoulos & Sons,' and Frank Dillane is quick to express his admiration for his dad.

"He's just an incredible actor, my old man," Dillane said. "I've had to wean myself away to make sure that any choices I make are grounded in myself rather than the seeking of approval."

Frank Dillane also admitted that playing Nick Clark in 'Fear The Walking Dead' has affected him.

"Only yesterday it occurred to me that I have this want inside, that I'm very unsettled at the moment," Dillane said. "And a friend said it's probably because I'd been playing an addict for so long. You don't realize until afterwards that if you feed the subconscious, it will bleed into your everyday life."

'Fear The Walking Dead' also stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Elizabeth Rodriguez. The series premiered on AMC on August 23.
