The cloaked figure in Gastonia NC has caused panic across towns, with social media freaking out and coming up with their own guesses as to who, or what, the figure is. Apparently, the creepy cloaked figure in Gastonia NC is just a college kid out on a school project, according to the Gaston Gazette.

According to CNN, a photo of the "cloaked figure" made it rounds on Facebook after someone saw the mysterious person standing in front of an apartment complex. When photos of the cloaked figure in Gastonia NC surfaced on August 14, social media went on panic mode.

NBC Charlotte's Facebook page was forwarded a screen grab of a post with the cloaked figure in Gastonia NC, according to WCNC.

"This person has been seen coming out of the woods at Hudson Woods near the playground area holding raw meat, performing some sort of prayer...leaving the meat to rot? Or trying to trap someones animals? Who knows...but either way...starting next week many kids will be getting off school buses in that area and everyone needs to be made aware of this freaky behavior. Please watch your children and animals closely. Bizarre behavior has unknown intentions!!" said the post.

Some people claim that the figure had been dumping "raw meat" near a playground. While others had no idea why, some say this was part of a witch's ritual.

When the complex's management saw the post, they turned to police, clearly spooked.

However, police in the area weren't too alarmed when they were notified by the management of the complex, reported The Inquisitr.

"It could have come from anywhere. We don't know if this is some bogus prank somebody is playing," according to Gastonia police spokeswoman Donna Lahser.

Meanwhile, a property manager also had the same response when asked about the cloaked figure in Gastonia NC.

"We don't know if it's one of our residents with an interesting way of presenting themselves, or if it's a trespasser," said Lance Calhoun, director of operations for Southwood Realty.

It isn't until now that the truth has come out, following countless guesses by social media users as to who the cloaked figure in Gastonia NC is. Turns out, there is nothing to worry about as the figure was just a student wearing an eerie outfit.
