Prosecutors Review Evidence In A Fatal Crash Involving Caitlyn Jenner

After being involved in a car crash that killed a woman in California, Caitlyn Jenner's fate is in the hands of the prosecutors who have begun reviewing evidence since yesterday, August 25.

After the mishap took place, the case was immediately investigated by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's crime division, according to a statement released by the DA's representative Greg Risling.

Authorities said that Caitlyn Jenner was driving her SUV on February 7, and passed through the Pacific Coast Highway, when it suddenly slammed two cars, pushing another vehicle driven by Kim Howe into the approaching road traffic.

69-year-old Howe died due to severe injuries caused by the accident. Howe's step-grandchildren, Dana Redmond and William Howe are now suing Jenner and asking her to testify as they feel that she is responsible for their grandmother's death.

According to the sheriff's investigators, Jenner was driving beyond a speed limit on a risky road condition at the time. Reports added that the gathered evidence towards the former Olympic athlete, highly supports a 'vehicular manslaughter charge'.

The car crash happened before Jenner transitioned into a transgender, and identifed herself as Bruce Jenner.

"It is a devastating tragedy." Jenner said in a statement, showing her deepest sympathies to everyone involved. "I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them."

Jenner's attorneys on the other hand, have asked a judge to reject a motion requiring the accused with a deposition, adding that another testimony should also be coordinated in the other case.

John Staser, one of Jenner's lawyers, wrote in his filed statement, "Defendant has been a public figure for decades, and in recent months the media's interest in her affairs has intensified greatly".

He added, "Due to the intense public scrutiny faced by [Jenner], it would be highly inconvenient to participate in more than one deposition."

Meanwhile, Jenner's another attorney, Blair Blerk, declined to give a comment regarding the ongoing case.
