[WATCH] Nicholas Hoult Take Out The Competition In Exhilirating 'Kill Your Friends' Trailer [VIDEO]

Nicholas Hoult has been a mutant in 'X-Men,' a zombie in 'Warm Bodies' and a fanatical Warboy in 'Mad Max: Fury Road.' However, he will be seen at his most terrifying form in his next film.

Nicholas Hoult is a vicious '90s music executive looking to make a hit record in the film adaptation of 'Kill Your Friends.'

The movie synopsis reads as follows:

"Based on John Niven's best-selling novel, and starring Nicholas Hoult as you've never seen him before, 'Kill Your Friends' is a jet-black comedy about a music executive at the height of the Britpop era who will stop at nothing to further his career."

The trailer starts off with Steven Stelfox (Nicholas Hoult) setting the mood. "Imagine you're standing on wafer-thin ice," he says. "Beneath your feet you can see sharks circling. These are your colleagues, your friends." It is then revealed that Stelfox is an A&R agent who believes in one thing: "Only one thing matters in this racket," he says. "Big. Hit. Records." However, it appears that Stelfox is bordering on desperation just to get a hit, and he's not too shy to commit a crime to get it.

The novel 'Kill Your Friends' was published in 2008 and was immediately compared to Brett Easton Ellis' bestseller 'American Psycho.' Despite the comparisons, 'Kill Your Friends' became a hit due to its satirical take on the dark side of the music industry.

'Kill Your Friends' is directed by Owen Harris and also stars James Corden, Georgia King, Craig Roberts, Rosanna Arquette, Tom Riley and Jim Piddock. Former 'Game of Thrones' star Ed Skrein, who originally portrayed Daenerys loyalist Daario Naharis, makes an appearance as Rent.

The film will be screened at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival in September, and is set to be released in the UK on November 6.
