E! News has exclusively revealed that Missy Elliott will be joining the ninth season of "The Voice." Not only that, but they've also got a "first look at Missy and Pharrell workin' it together in rehearsals for the battle rounds."
She won't be a judge though, instead, she'll be an adviser for Pharrell Williams' team once the show hits the air back on September 21.
Season nine of "The Voice" is gearing up to be so star studded. In fact, Selena Gomez will be mentoring Gwen Stefani's team, while Brad Paisley will be helping out on Blake Shelton's team. As for Adam Levine, well, he's recruited none other than John Fogerty!
It gets even better: Rihanna will be on the newest season of "The Voice" too! The "B-ch Better Have My Money" singer will be a key adviser for all of the show's contestants.
"This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers," NBC exec Bob Greenblatt said, talking about Rihanna joining "The Voice."
Missy Elliott has been keeping a low profile and she hasn't been making any new music of her own for years now. But she did, however, make a major comeback when she joined Katy Perry on stage for slayin' the 2015 Super Bowl half time show.
In case you forgot, that was also the same Super Bowl performance when Left Shark become oh-so famous for failing to follow forgetting the dance choreography.
But hey, at least he inspired so many memes, GIFs, some tattoos, and even a Twitter handle!
Even more good news for Missy Elliott fans too: Back in April, Pharrell Williams confessed on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" that he'll be working with Missy Elliott on the latter's new album!
Tune into E! News tonight at 7PM and 11PM to watch that sneak peek of Missy Elliott and Pharrell Williams rehearsing for "The Voice."
