Wiz Khalifa was trying to embrace future technology by riding around on a hoverboard throughout LAX Airport on Aug. 22.
However, the 27-year-old rapper was handcuffed and forced to the ground by US customs officials and Border Patrol officers, claiming afterwards the use of force was prompted after he refused to get off his hoverboard.
This is certainly an interesting thing to be arrested for, and Wiz Khalifa posted a couple videos before he was detained.
The first one shows him being confronted by cops over his hoverboard, and he tells them “they can’t do nothing.”

A second video is more aggressive and it shows the officers surrounding him on the ground telling him to stop resisting. Wiz is heard saying, “I’m not resisting” while he’s being handcuffed.

The video’s timecode suggests the incident occurred at 3.56pm.
Wiz Khalifa took to social media to address the shocking incident, in which he seemed to suggest that riding the new technology would become a rights issue of the future.
The rapper went off in a series of heated tweets regarding the incident. “Haven’t been slammed and cuffed in a while. That was fun,” he wrote, before addressing his hoverboard. “What’s even funnier than them not bein able to do s**t is they’ll be riding them soon as well. Maybe ones I design,” he wrote, along with, “I stand for our generation and our generation is gonna be riding hover boards.”
