Lisa Rinna has two teenage daughters, Delilah, 17, and Amelia, 14. She revealed on social media how she received a phone call from one who claimed to be a terrorist who had her daughter in custody, demanding money so that they will not kill the child.
The call starts with a child crying in the background calling out, 'Mom, help me.' The reality TV star says, 'it is the worst scariest nightmare.'
Reports submitted to the Daily Mail did not specify how the scam was sorted out, but it does say the issue is now with the FBI. The tweets have been deleted because it relived the horror to her daughters. 'it freaked them out,' although there was no actual kidnapping that happened.
"Those of you who saw them it was a very real scam. Be aware," she says as a warning to other parents.
Rinna, 52, is married to actor Harry Hamlin and they live with their two daughters in Beverly Hills. She stars in the reality series 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'.
Before joining the hit series, Lisa Rinna, had a reality TV series starring her own family, entitled 'Harry Loves Lisa'. It ran for only 6 episodes in 2010.
After that stint, she joined 'Celebrity Apprentice' but got voted out early on. Last year, she joined the fifth season of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'.
Her other screen appearances include roles in 'Days of our Lives', 'Melrose Place', and as host of 'Soap Talk'. She also had a stint on Broadway, taking the lead role of Roxie Hart in the famous 'Chicago' with Billy Flynn, who plays her husband.
