According to CNN, Los Angeles police served a search warrant at the house of KISS bassist Gene Simmons Thursday. Authorities however said that no member of the family is a suspect in the investigation.
According to Lt. John Jenal of the Los Angeles Police Department, LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was the one who executed the warrant. He also added that, "No one in the Simmons family is a suspect in this investigation". Police has been closed-mouth with the any other details of the investigation. The Simmons were also withholding details about the alleged crime.
This was supported by a police statement released in NBC News, "Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a person of interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation. At this time, the police have requested Mr. Simmons and his family not to discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it."
According to the rocker's publicist, Cheyanne Baker, the police visit was connected to a crime that may have occurred on the property last year while Simmons was away on tour with his band. On a tweeter message posted by Shannon Simmons, Gene Simmons wife, she thanked their supporters late Thursday. As mentioned, she did not disclose any details about the crime but only said, "Thanks for your support. We couldn't be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. Law enforcement is on it." Later on, she also reminded everyone not to forget to change passwords.
