Father of One Direction singer, Louis Tomlinson, has reportedly attempted suicide on Wednesday night, reports say.
Troy Austin was arrested by a police in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, after he was found out trying to end his life while driving his friend's car under the influence of alcohol.
Austin's relatives confirmed on Tuesday that he fled to a friend's car after he had an argument with his brother Dene Flanagan over a hotel they both own.
Prosecutor Joanne Lewis-Crookes on her statement, "He had been reported a missing person and there were real concerns about his mental state and well-being. It is suspected he went off, having borrowed a friend's car, to kill himself."
The police first looked at the vehicle and later found empty beer cans inside the car, which pushed the police to ask him for a breath test.
Austin was first brought to the police station before he pleaded guilty in Docaster Magistrates' court after failing to provide a urine sample, reports say.
Lewis-Crookes added, "He was taken to a local police station, but was trying to hurt himself. He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries caused.
The 46-year old man, who separated from Tomlinson's mother, Johannah Poulston, 18 years ago, was spotted at Cantley Park at six in the evening on Tuesday.
A friend of Austin said that he once lived with him, but he pulled him out of his home for drinking too much and he "was getting over a bereavement."
"Nobody wants anything to do with him. It's desperately sad." he added.
Another friend of Austin also said "It's tragic. He's lost all of his friends. They've all disowned him. This isn't about Louis. He is drinking heavily."
The court said that he was given a bail without conditions after his sentence had been adjourned for about three weeks until September 10, Thursday.
Troy Austin, who has not talked to Tomlinson since their last phone call three years ago, said earlier that he would like to be part of his future grandchild's life.
"I've missed out on Louis's life and I'd like to make up for that. It's definitely time to heal the rift. Life is too short.", he said.
Tomlinson on the other, who has been receiving various interview invitations to speak up about his father's recent issue, declined to comment.
