Caitlyn Jenner Crash: L.A. Sheriff Pushing Misdemeanor Manslaughter Charge Over Malibu Crash Due To ‘Unsafe For Road Conditions’

A few months before that Vanity Fair cover that introduced Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner as a transgender woman, the father of Kendall and Kylie Jenner was involved in a terrible accident that ended the life of another person, and Caitlyn Jenner's crash is now haunting her - and there's a chance she could even go to prison for it.

Caitlyn Jenner's crash occurred back in February, when she was still going by the name of Bruce; at the time, Jenner was driving a Cadillac Escalade when she rear-ended a Lexus sedan that ultimately crashed into a Toyota Prius, killing the Lexus driver, 69 year-old Kim Howe, while Jenner was left uninjured.

According to Variety, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is officially pushing for a manslaughter misdemeanor charge, saying there's a "50/50" chance that Caitlyn Jenner's crash will see her charged, although there was "nothing really egregious" about her involvement in the accident.

ESPN reports that the reason Caitlyn Jenner's crash could see her facing a manslaughter misdemeanor is that she was driving "unsafe for the prevailing road conditions," as it was raining at the time and, while Jenner wasn't speeding, she may have been going to a pace faster than she should have given the weather.

According to The Guardian, after Caitlyn Jenner's crash, which apparently left her unscathed, the 65 year-old faced lawsuits from both the relatives of Lexus driver Howe as well as Prius driver Jessica Steindorff, who was injured during the accident and sought after damages related to it.

For now, the case is up to its final review next week, when it will be decided whether or not Jenner should face criminal charges for the crash - if she were to lose in such a case, she could be serving up to one year in prison.

Further details about Caitlyn Jenner's crash will be released in the coming days.
