Ming-Na Wen Marvel: Melinda May No Longer Among ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Phil Coulson Could Gain Dangerous Enemy

The second season of the first-ever Marvel Cinematic Universe series, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," brought up a whole new set of questions and characters to the table, in particular the Inhumans, as agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) fought even the inner circles of the agency - and now that could even include Ming-Na Wen's Marvel character, Agent Melinda May.

Also known as "The Cavalry," although she definitely hates the name, Ming-Na Wen's Marvel character is one of the strongest allies Coulson has had since the start of the series, although the past few episodes have shown she's not as convinced about the agency and his leadership as she was at the beginning.

According to Comic Book, there's a chance that Ming-Na Wen's Marvel character leaves S.H.I.E.L.D. for good, as the 51 year-old actress has recently spoken about Agent May's current status, as her decisions may vary and her loyalty towards Coulson's shaking - or at least her willingness to be a part of it is.

As Latin Post reports, the second season's finale saw Ming-Na Wen's Marvel character packing up for a vacation, the first she's taken in the show's recorded history (and altogether, according to Coulson), as she took some time to reconnect with her ex husband, Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood).

"In any situation when someone is so devoted to their work as May was, but then realizing over the last two years that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't really what she dedicated her life to," said the actress to TVGuide.com, speaking about the way Ming-Na Wen's Marvel character will be thinking in the next season of the show. "That there was definitely a lot of corruption to S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as uncertainty now with the Inhumans being brought in by Coulson. It's going to be figuring out her final decision in Season 3 and I think Andrew will probably play a part in it."

The third season of the show is a little over one month away on September 29, and the fate of Ming-Na Wen's Marvel character will be revealed.
