Bon Jovi, Governor Chris Christie Spotted at Hamptons Party

Singer-songwriter and frontman of rock band Bon Jovi, Jon Bon Jovi, and New Jersey's Governor Chris Christie were both present at a party at the Hamptons on Saturday, August 15. The event was a fundraiser for the Apollo Theater and held at the Wainscott estate of Ronald O. Perelman.

Jamie Foxx, Jimmy Fallon, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson and the Roots, which backed Bon Jovi, were some of the musical performances during the fundraiser. Notable celebrities also graced the event, including Jack Nicholson, Penny Marshall, Harvey Weinstein, Mary-Kate Olsen, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Robert Kraft.

Bon Jovi joined the American R&B/pop singer-songwriter, record producer, and former record executive Smokey Robinson on stage to perform  "The Tracks of My Tears," one of the singles from Smokey Robinson's album 'Going to a Go-Go.'

Bon Jovi said of Robinson, "This is what rock-and-roll history looks like."

The 55th Governor of New Jersey and currently a Republican presidential candidate, Chris Christie ate fried chicken and salmon with Jon Bon Jovi, keeping a low profile. This was unlike his demeanor at last year's party, where he jumped on stage to dance with Jamie Foxx.

He was also spotted hanging out with billionaire private equity boss Steve Schwarzman. Governor Chris Christie also sat in a table with Matt Lauer, host of NBC's "The Today Show" since 1997.

Jon Bon Jovi owns a home in East Hampton, and the rock star has appeared suddenly at several events in the area this summer. One of which was President Bill Clinton's 68th birthday dinner held at the Blue Parrot restaurant, where Hillary and Chelsea Clinton weren't in attendance.

Another major event was a fundraiser he and his wife Dorothea Bongiovi hosted for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank.
