Jared Fogle's troubles seem to keep piling on. The former Subway spokesperson's wife, Katie McLaughlin, is filing for divorce, just after Fogle was set to plead guilty to child pornography charges, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
Katie McLaughlin released a statement to the media, saying, "Obviously I am extremely shocked and disappointed by the recent developments involving Jared. I am in the process of seeking a dissolution of the marriage."
"My focus is exclusively on the well-being of my children. Neither I nor my family will have any further comment on the matter. I appreciate respect for my family's privacy during this difficult time," McLaughlin continued.
Jared Fogle has two children with his second wife, Katie McLaughlin. The two tied the knot back in July 2010, after Jared Fogle's first marriage to Elizabeth Fogle, which spanned from 2001 to 2007.
It was on Wednesday when 37-year-old Jared Fogle "agreed to plead guilty to one count of travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography."
The plea agreement states that Jared Fogle will be serving five years in prison, at the very least. He is also required to pay $1.4 million in restitution, distributed to 14 minor victims. That comes out to $100,000 per person.
Jared Fogle will also have to register himself as a sex offender, in addition to undergoing treatment for sexual disorders as part of the plea agreement.
Allegations of Jared Fogle's engagement with child pornography began when the FBI and Indiana state police raided his home in Indianapolis back in July this year.
