Real Life ‘Simpsons’ Kitchen: Canadian Couple Renovates their Kitchen to Look Exactly Like Cartoon's [VIDEO]

Marcia Andreychuk and Joel Hamilton, a couple from Calgary, Canada, wants a real life "Simpsons" kitchen. Though the idea might sound ridiculous, Andreychuk and Hamilton actually renovated their Calgary home's kitchen to look exactly like the show's.

From Marge Simpson's corn cob curtains, checkerboard tiles and "cartoon" knobs, to the pastel purple paint, the Canadian couple have gotten the "Simpsons" kitchen right off the bat, according to the CBC.
"My significant other and I wanted to do a retro-vation," Andreychuk told CBC. "We wanted to keep the old, make it new - and one day we had this bizarre, bizarre idea. Why don't we just take what we already have and turn it into The Simpsons' kitchen?"

To be able to achieve this kind of thing, you'd have to be a super dedicated fan of "The Simpsons," and that is exactly what the couple is. Obviously, they are super fans of the animated sitcom.

Hamilton even said that he re-watches every episode of the cartoons that is released annually. Turns out, Hamilton not only finds entertainment with he and his beau's real life "Simpsons" kitchen, but he finds the show even therapeutic.

"The Simpsons for me is actually a baby blanket. If I'm not feeling very well, if I'm depressed, if I have a bad day - I come home and pop The Simpsons on... and everything is alright," said Hamilton.

Fortunately for the Canadian couple, they kitchen already has the same structure as Marge's, making it easier to copy the cartoon's. According to Refinery 29, all the couple needed to do was match the patters and colors inside their kitchen to the TV series.

"All the elements seemed like it would work to convert it into The Simpsons kitchen," said Andreychuk. "Who wouldn't want corncob curtains?"

Turns out, Andreychuk and Hamilton also didn't have to shell out much for the "Simpsons kitchen" renovation, according to Game Spot.

According to Andreychuk, she only spent 20 for the blue countertop. She also used green contact paper to make the stovetop and other appliances from the show to achieve the same hue as the show's. Andreychuk also made the curtains herself.

As for now, the couple is still in the process of saving up for "retro-inspired" olive-green colored appliances, reported Eater.
