Even though "Friends" wrapped up 11 years ago (yes, it has been that long) in 2004, many fans of the beloved sitcom still yearn for more episodes.
But good news for fans - an old deleted scene has just been released! The scene was originally supposed to air on "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross" episode, but was later removed because it was just shortly after the tragic 9/11 occurrence.
Before the scene is shown, the opening slide carries this disclaimer:
"The following scenes were deleted from the episode 'The One Where Rachel Tells Ross' and are being presented here for the first time. The story involved Chandler joking with security at an airport and was to air two weeks after the events of September 11, 2001. In light of this, we decided to replace the original story, as part of the history of the show. We hope that the scenes can now be viewed in the spirit which they were originally intended."
The video of the original scene shows Monica (played by Courtney Cox) and Chandler (played by Matthew Perry) arriving at the airport to leave for their honeymoon.
However, Chandler sees a sign noting that people who poke fun about bombs will be taken into custody. In true Chandler fashion, he disregards the warning and jokes about bombs, saying: "You don't have to worry about me, ma'am, I take my bombs very seriously."
Although the scene didn't make it to television screens, the writers were still able to write an alternate scene, which flowed seamlessly with the episode plot.
In case you don't remember, in this "Friends" episode, Monica and Chandler arrive at the airport. But things take a turn when the couple becomes overly jealous of another couple that gets newlywed perks, like a free upgrade to first class.
