New 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Animated Clip Features Rocket Raccoon's Origin Story [VIDEOS]

The wise-cracking fluffball of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' finally gets his own origin story!

The animated 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy' has previously released clips showing the backstory of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord and Groot. Both origin stories introduced the characters in a unique way, and it is no different in the new 'Guardians of the Galaxy Origins' featuring Rocket Raccoon.

The gang's tiniest and most intelligent member was previously featured in Groot's origin story, which Rocket Raccoon had narrated. There was also a glimpse at the raccoon as a pup, where he is seen with his mother. Unfortunately, things don't go too well for Rocket and his family in his backstory.

The first part of 'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Rocket Raccoon Origins' shows how the frail but feisty raccoon pup was chosen to be used for several experiments. The clip doesn't explicitly display the procedures used on Rocket Raccoon, but it does show him slowly getting the ability to talk and walk on his hind legs. It also features the first meeting between Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Rocket Raccoon Origins Pt. 2' has more action and shows off what skills the raccoon pup gained from the several experiments. After saving Groot, Rocket Raccoon frees the other animals in the facilities but is dismayed when his family doesn't recognize him anymore. The clip also shows how he came to be known as Rocket Raccoon.

'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy' will feature the voice of Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon and Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot. Star-Lord will be voiced by Will Friedle, Gamora will be given voice by Vanessa Marshall and Drax the Destroyer will be played by David Sobolov. The Ravager Yondu will be voiced by James Arnold Taylor.

The series is scheduled to air on Disney XD on September 26, 2015.
