Sandy Hook Victim Hoax Unveiled: Fake Facebook Page, Fake 'Uncle' of Adam Lanza Arrested

Sadly, a lot of hoaxes surround the Sandy Hook tragedy that took place only weeks ago. Two of them were cleared up.

According to eCanadaNow, a Facebook page established in the name of Ryan Lanza, Newtown killer Adam's brother, revealed to be a hoax. The online tributes to Adam Lanza was not made by his brother.

"R.I.P Adam Peter Lanza. April 22, 1992 - Dec. 14, 2012 (20 years old) 'I will miss you bro. I will always love you as long as I live. ' - Ryan," the Facebook hoaxer wrote about Lanza. He also posted a picture of his mother, Nancy, 52.

"I miss you mom. I love you so much. You will be always in my heart," he wrote.

Various media outlets have been reporting the posts of the hoaxer, according to eCanadaNow, and that the real Ryan Lanza's Facebook account is private but dozens of fake accounts and group pages have sprung about in the wake of the shooting.

In another hoax, a convicted felon who traveled to Newtown, Conn. and posed as the uncle of Lanza was arrested on a federal probation violation charge, according to TheSmokingGun.

Jonathan Lee Riches, 35, was busted last week and booked into Chester County Jail. On Dec. 16, two days after the school massacre, Riches drove to Connecticut and sought to visit the home of gunman Adam Lanza. He videotaped part of the trip and uploaded clips to his YouTube page.

Riches also made a makeshift memorial site in Newtown, where he identified himself to reporters as "Jonathan Lanza," uncle of the school shooter. He also told journalists that Lanza had been taking Fanapt, an antipsychotic drug prescribed for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Now, Riches is not allowed to leave Pennsylvania's Eastern District judicial boundaries without permission from a judge or his probation officers, TheSmokingGun reported. He is serving a five-year federal probation term. Riches is known for filing hundreds of fatuous lawsuits that named famous athletes, politicians, musicians, and Hollywood Stars are defendants. The most recent was of Britney Spears; before that, it was people like Justin Bieber and Brad Pitt.

The world was devastated on Dec. 14 when hearing that Adam Peter Lanza, 20, fatally shot 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the Sandy Hook village of Newtown, Connecticut. Two were wounded. Before going to the school, Lanza shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, and their home a few miles away. After killing students and staff, Lanza committed suicide as first responders arrived.
