Nickelback’s UK Tour Cancelled as Chad Kroeger Is Ordered to Rest by Doctors

The Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta Nickelback, is forced to cancel their gigs for the 2015 No Fixed Address Tour, as the  lead singer Chad Kroeger needs an extended period of vocal rest ordered.

In June, the Canadian musician, producer, and best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for Nickelback Chad Kroeger was diagnosed with an intracordal cyst on his voice box. Recently, the frontman of Nickelback underwent surgery and for a full recovery, the doctors have ordered that Kroeger must remain on vocal rest  for the next six to nine months.

When the doctors first diagnosed Chad Kroeger with an operable cyst on his vocal cords in June, the multi-platinum selling rock band announced that they will not perform in the second leg of the 2015 North American tour. As the band was scheduled to continue the European leg of the tour in September which includes a date at Sheffield Arena on Friday, November 13, however, based on the results of the surgery of the medical team. It is then essential for Chad Kroeger to have an extended period of recovery.

A band member stated, "Most of all, we are sorry to miss our fans out on the road this fall, but Chad's health, healing and full recovery are what is most important right now. With the proper amount of time, we hope to have him back stronger and better than ever before. We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this time and look forward to getting back out on the road and playing music for everyone again real soon."

Nickelback cancelled eight planned UK dates in November, also dozens of other performances throughout Europe between September and December of this year.

The band stated the frontman's news through their website, "Kroeger was diagnosed with an intracordal cyst on his voice box in June, recently underwent surgery and must remain on vocal rest as ordered by doctors for the next six to nine months in order to fully recuperate. The medical team is pleased with the results of the surgery, but Kroeger will need an extended period to recover properly."
