‘Jack And The Beanstalk’ Movie: Disney’s Making ‘Gigantic’ Based On Classic Fairytale – ‘Frozen’ Songwriters And ‘Tangled’ Director!

For almost a century, Disney has been the go-to studio for fairytales, having given the world some of the most iconic adaptations of the works of the Brothers Grimm, Charles Perrault and Hans Christian Andersen - and now, another classic tale comes to life from the studio, as they've just announced there's a "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie in the works!

The upcoming "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie will be called "Gigantic" and it'll helm from Walt Disney Animation Studios, with a list of talents that have worked with "Tangled" and "Frozen" in the past, in an adventure that shouldn't be missed!

According to Forbes, this "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie was recently announced during Disney's annual D3, and it's not the first film based on this fairytale that has come out of Disney, after the 1940s short film "Mickey and the Giant," considered a classic in itself and starring Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck.

Time Magazine reports that this new "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie will be set in 15th century Spain, the "age of discovery," and on it Jack won't only discover a castle with one giant but in fact an entire world inhabited by "gigantic" creatures, including 60 feet tall 11 year-old girl Inma.

"She gets her hands on a grown man Jack, and she thinks he's a toy," said Nathan Greno, the director of "Tangled," who will be helming this new "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie, set to give the world another ethnically diverse figure after more recent efforts in this area.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, besides Greno, other people involved in the project include the husband and wife songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kirsten Anderson-Lopez, the Oscar winners behind the 2013 hit "Let it Go" from "Frozen" - and it seems they're already working on songs for the film.

The "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie's set to premiere on November 23, 2016.
