When Alison Brie, Jason Sudeikis, Adam Scott, Natasha Lyonne, and Jason Mantzoukas are all coming together for one project, you can surely bet it will be a hilarious one.
Such is the case for "Sleeping With Other People," a film by Leslye Headland, which first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and successively, Sundance Film Festival.
The romantic-comedy follows former lovers Lainey (Alison Brie) and Jake (Jason Sudeikis), who find themselves meeting each other again at a sex addicts meeting. It comes as no surprise that their reunion prompts an even more complicated relationship between the two.
The red-band trailer (thanks to Yahoo!) gives a pretty good preview of what to expect from the film, which Geek Tyrant aptly calls, a "f-king brilliant romantic comedy."
Here's the full synopsis of "Sleeping With Other People" via Geek Tyrant:
"Years after impulsively losing their virginity to each other in college, Lainey (Alison Brie) and Jake (Jason Sudeikis) meet at a support group in New York ('What's a nice girl like you doing at a sex addicts meeting?'). A spark resurfaces, but they've walked this road before. Abject failures in romance who lead lives of serial infidelity and self-sabotage, they agree to a platonic friendship to mutually support their recovery - and what's more supportive than teaching you friend proper self-stimulation? Can love bloom while you're sleeping with other people? Lainey and Jake may have struck a deal that proves easier said than done."
Not only that, but at one point in the film, the two attend a children's party while high on a type of ecstacy, Molly - which is a telltale sign of the film's hilarity.
