Apple makes it easy for its shoppers. It has eliminated its stand-alone retail site store.apple.com, and has instead integrated the shopping experience into their website Apple.com.
Mashable reports that the new move intends for the customers to have inconvenience in doing their exploring, research and shopping in the same destination.
In the older days, when you want to view and purchase Apple items like iPhone, iPad and Mac, you have to go to their online store and make purchases there by clicking on the STORE icon on the left side. It will then redirect you to a shopping page.
Now, when you are doing research on the Apple website, you just need to click a shopping bag icon found in the upper right side. You can also view your purchases or selections categorized as items selected, favorite items and status reports on your orders.
Main products are still displayed the same way as with the old; however, accessory products are now displayed in grid form, with links to purchase pages.
The old Apple store enjoyed 1 billion shoppers annually. It was created in 1997. It carried all products of Apple and select brands of accessories that fit Apple products. Items may also be ordered and purchased by phone. In 2013, the online stores were available in 39 countries. Aside from online stores, Apple also had physical stores, a total of 444 in 16 countries. Online purchases were $ 16 billion in 2011.
Apple store offers these product lines: hardware, which includes iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, iPod, Apple TV, and a lot more. It also has the Apple software and software from other vendors, and accessories. It also offers gift certificates, instant loans and even online discounts for specific groups, which include government employees of the US Government.
