Katherine Heigl is done for good with Grey’s Anatomy. The show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, told TVLine that she’s thought about bringing Heigl’s character, Izzie Stevens, back to Seattle and to the now Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, but decided against it, stating that she’ll never revisit Izzie’s story line again.
During a recent interview, Shonda said she has absolutely no interest in bringing Katherine Heigl back to the series for any number of episodes.
When asked about the possibility of Izzie Stevens returning, Shonda said “no,” shook her head and shut the interviewer down hard at ABC’s Television Critics Association press tour-themed bash at the Beverly Hilton on Aug. 5.
“I’m done with that story. I’ve turned that idea over in my mind a thousand times and thought about how it would go. And I don’t think so.”
First, Shonda killed Derek Shepherd played by Patrick Dempsey, and now, she just killed the dreams of Katherine Heigl's fans.
Shonda Rhimes is an American director, writer and producer who has a net worth of $60 million according to Celebrity net Worth.
It is a well known fact that Katherine Heigl and Shonda Rhimes had a falling out after Katherine’s alleged diva-like behavior on the Grey’s Anatomy set, which ultimately led to her dismissal.
When Katherine was asked about returning in June, she said there was no truth to the rumors, and when asked if she wanted to come back, her response was less than promising. “I think that… I don’t know how to answer that, I’m sorry,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
However, even though Katherine Heigl is done with Grey’s Anatomy, she still credits the show for helping her career.
“It’s been this incredible thing,” she further explained. “It was just this incredible experience for me. It changed the course of my life and career and I couldn’t be more grateful. I just hope it goes for as long as they all want it to.”
Season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy will be a big change from the former seasons, and fans are dying to know what Meredith will do now that she’s without Derek, as well as how the rest of the characters, such as April and Jackson, will move on after their own losses and issues.
