An #AaliyahForMAC Makeup Line Might Be Coming Soon! [PHOTOS + WATCH]

Recently, a biopic about late R&B princess Aaliyah was released. Although many aren't too happy about how the film turned out, there may be another way to honor the late singer.

Fans have been petitioning cosmetics giant MAC Cosmetics to create and launch a limited edition makeup collection inspired by Aaliyah's notable looks.

The hashtag #AaliyahForMAC, as well as an online petition have been making its rounds on the Internet. Fans and Aaliyah's close friends are urging the cult-favorite brand to release a range of cosmetics like "eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip liners, lip glosses, contour & highlight, beauty powder, false lashes, [and] eyebrow pencils."

Jennifer Risinger, the woman behind the petition, also notes that Aaliyah was a "big fan" of MAC Cosmetics. Risinger further notes that Aaliyah's brother, Rashad Haughton "approves of the idea for a Limited Edition collection by MAC for her."

Jennifer Risinger further supports the campaign by citing: "Aaliyah stands for MAC's mission of 'All ages, all races, all sexes.' She was a risk taker, innovator, edgy, street but sweet."

"Our mission is simple, we want her legacy to continue and be reintroduced through a collection with MAC Cosmetics. [...] Help us bring her legacy [and] memory to new generations [and] the legions of diehard fans in a different format than her legacy has ever been given before," Jennifer Risinger added.

Although Missy Elliott - one of Aaliyah's closest friends - hated Lifetime's Aaliyah biopic, "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B," the "Work It" singer has been supportive of the #AaliyahForMAC campaign.

In fact, Missy Elliott has been retweeting some posts from the Aaliyah For MAC Twitter account, as well as tweets that carry the hashtag #AaliyahForMAC.

Aaliyah passed away in a plane crash back in 2001. She was coming from The Bahamas for the location shoot of her music video, "Rock the Boat."
