Fan Asks John Travolta to Cut her Hair, Pays $1,000 for Charity

The event was the launch of Buzz Aldrin's non-profit ShareSpace Foundation.  It was the same day of the anniversary of the Apollo mission, which Astronaut Aldrin was part of.  Actor Seth Green moderated the celebrity auction.  Up for grabs was the privilege to dance with John Travolta, an aviator himself and Aldrin.  Two patrons put up $ 4,000 each to recreate the Pulp Fiction dance, and do some waltz with the 'Grease' icon and the space man.  One of the ladies offered an additional $ 1,000 for charity if Travolta would cut her hair like Uma Thurman's hairstyle in the famous Quentin Tarantino movie.  The 2007 'Hairspray' star gave it his best shot.

According to Mirror, the auction-launch was held in the Kennedy Space Center with about 200 guests.  The foundation intends to ignite the children's passion and curiosity for science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Travolta is also an aviator, which explains his affiliation with the cause of the former Apollo astronaut.  He is a licensed pilot, and owns five, yes, five aircrafts.  On the final season of Oprah Winfrey, it was announced that she was taking her entire studio audience to Australia for an 8-day free trip, with Travolta piloting the plane.

On other hair news, Travolta used to have a full mane of hair.  Over the years, he lost some, but apparently and curiously regained it early this year when he came out with a 'glorious mane'.  Last April, he attended a red-carpet occasion which showed his glowing locks, a far cry from the baldie that he was during a selfie taken two days prior.  Some say Travolta wears a hairpiece for special events, but it has neither been confirmed nor denied by the star.  There are also allegations of having gotten a hair transplant, but we can only speculate.

Travolta will be the voice behind the 'Gummy Bear the Movie 3D' set for release late this year.  In 2008, he also voiced the starring dog in the movie 'Bolt'.
