Canadian host Chris Hyndman died at the age of 49, according to reports. Hyndman was part of a Canadian lifestyle show 'Steven and Chris'.
The Canadian Broadcast Corporation confirmed Hyndman's death on Monday, August 3, in an alleyway in Toronto, where he was found with no vital signs.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died early this morning," the memo stated.
Executive director Jennifer Dettman said on Tuesday, "I think about for Steven, that his partner for 25 years is gone and that our friend is gone. And certainly for the CBC, he will leave a hole. He really touched so many Canadians across this country. We saw the emails day in and day out of what he meant to them."
Steven Sabado, Hyndman's co-host, was his real-life partner and 'Steven and Chris' was only one of the many projects they have worked on together as a couple.
Their other projects include a home decor line which was launched back in 2007, featuring textiles, furnitures, decorative accessories and area rugs.
The couple later bumped into a design company, The Sabados Group with three HGTV series, the Design Rivals, Designer Guys and So Chic/ They were also able to launch their own lifestyle TV show 'Steven and Chris'.
According to the couple's main website, their TV shows have been aired in more than 80 different countries and languages across the globe, and their works of designs were also featured on the popular 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'.
Hyndman's HGTV family sent their condolences on Twitter. Co-host of HGTV's Property Brothers, Jonathan Scott, tweeted "I'm heartbroken to hear that Chris Hyndman has died. Just a joy to b around and such a kind soul. You will be missed. Rest in peace my friend."

Scott's co-host and biological brother, also sent his message on Twitter, saying "It saddens me to hear that Chris Hyndman from @CBC's @stevenandchris has passed. He was a great guy and will be missed."

As for the investigation, authorities said that Hyndman's death is 'completely open'. However, no further details about the case were provided.
