UK R&B/electro singer FKA Twigs is out with a new song that is going viral to fans of her music. Entertainment Weekly reported that the eccentric underground singer just released a track called Figure 8 and it just a glimpse of things to come for the talented UK artist.
Twigs started her career when she released her first album called LP1 back in 2014. It has received a lot of great reviews both from music fans and critics. She then started touring and performing to different festivals all over the world. She also started a movement-show called Congregata, which she first introduced in New York in the summer of this year.
Her new single was first heard last March when she sang it in one of her concerts. But it was only officially released on Monday during Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show via Apple Music. The singer said that her track symbolizes eternity. She also mentioned that she wrote it when she was feeling sad and lost right after her first album was released and her touring started to kick off.
Her inspiration came from doing vogue lessons when she was in New York. Twigs said that every move she learned from it is "Figure 8." There is somewhat a feeling of eternity from the handclaps, matching the electronic sound with the vocals that come in the song. The track has not yet officially released for purchase and streaming, as it was just a teaser track from her upcoming EP.
The Verge also reported Twig's new debut track on Lowe's radio show and how New York nightclubs helped her created the song. Twigs said during the interview, "I could practice my figure 8 in a mirror in the hotel room and listen to vogue music, or look at vogue legends on the internet... I felt like it made me feel sane, and 'Figure 8' is a reflection on that, I guess."
