The video interview with CNN's Andres Oppenheimer was initially for Cristiano Ronaldo to promote his new sports headphones as he undergoes a sponsorship tour with Nike, reported Sport Act.
While Oppenheimer was absorbed knowing about the Real Madrid player's new product set to launch soon, it appeared the reporter was more interested in knowing the details behind the FIFA corruption scandal. In the video where Cristiano Ronaldo storms off set, the 30-year-old footballer was shown getting visibly upset as Oppenheimer questioned him about the FIFA corruption scandal.
The interview appeared great at first. Ronaldo even reportedly deflected Oppenheimer's first questions when it came to the scandal.
"How is the corruption scandal affecting the playing on the field? Is it something that worries you?" Oppenheimer asked.
"It doesn't worry me at all," answered Ronaldo. "I do my profession, my job, I give my all to my club. The rest doesn't matter to me."
But Oppenheimer kept badgering Ronaldo with the questions about the scandal, putting him on the spot. Eventually, Cristiano Ronaldo storms off set and abandoned the interview completely, reported The Daily Mail.
The breaking point for the football star was when Oppenheimer brought up the topic of Qatar possibly being stripped of the 2026 World Cup, reported Headlines & Global News.

"I can't speak like that. This is bulls**t. Speak about FIFA, I don't care about FIFA. And Qatar...I don't give a f**k. What you want me to do? Speak about product, he speaks about FIFA...come on," he said before walking off the set.
