Just when you think Simon Cowell is not capable of gushing, at least about another person and not his pets, he is all-love for his 'Mini-Me'. Eric, 17 months old, is Simon's son with girlfriend, Lauren Silverman.
Recently, Cowell's fellow X Factor judge, Cheryl Fernandez - Versini, posted on Instagram a photo of the music mogul with baby Eric, wearing identical outfits of blue jeans and white top, the Daily Mail reports.
Not so long ago, all Cowell could gush about were his two pet dogs, Squiddly and Diddly, Yorkshire terrier pooches. He is so enamored with them he 'allegedly hoped to clone the Yorkshire Terriers using a biotech firm in South Korea.' He added a new member to the troop lately, Freddy, also a Yorkshire terrier.
They say the small Cowell has his father's mouth. Time will tell if he has the gift of witty criticism. Meanwhile, Daddy Cowell gushes that he is enjoying being a daddy, dirty diapers notwithstanding. He says Eric can be a new member of One Direction. Apparently, the baby did not only get his good looks, but even his 'characteristics'.
Eric loves the pooches as much as his father does, spending more time with his four-legged friends that the Senior Cowell fears his son would bark first, before learning to talk. He says his baby might have a 'translantic drawl' because of the multi-nationalities and multi-languages in their household. Cowell is very English, Mom is American and the house workers are mostly Filipinos.
Eric was born February last year. He is named after the father of Cowell, who died in 1999. Julie Cowell, the mother of Simon, recently died of stroke, but Simon shares he is glad his mom was able to meet her grandson.
In April 2013, Simon was quoted to have said he wanted to be a father someday, even entertaining ideas of adopting. But in July, reports came out that girlfriend Laura was pregnant.The proud owner of pooches is now a proud daddy.
