WATCH: Fantastic Four Cast Gets the Cara Delevigne Treatment in Awkward Interview

It seems like Hollywood interviewers just can't stop asking cringe-worthy questions. Two members of the cast of Fox's new Fantastic Four reboot: Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara were subject to some rather ignorant questioning during an appearance promoting the film on the Rock 100.5 Morning Show in Atlanta. This comes right on the heels of actress and model Cara Delevigne's awkward interview with a Sacramento talk show which took social media by storm last week.

The interviewers begin by asking Jordan and Mara about the reimagined origins of their characters; the brother - sister duo of Johnny and Sue Storm, who become the Human Torch and Invisible Woman respectively. In the original Marvel Comics Johnny and Sue are portrayed as biological siblings. The upcoming film tweaks their background slightly, portraying Johnny (who was played by Captain America star Chris Evans in the original films) as an African-American and making Sue his adopted sister.

It seems like a pretty simple change, but interviewer Jason Bailey couldn't seem to wrap his head around the concept. Right out of the gate he asks: "You're white and you're black. How does that happen?" Mara tells it like it is saying: "Sue Storm was adopted." That seems like a pretty definitive explanation, but Bailey continues to pursue the line of questioning before Jordan quashes it with this response:

"There's a whole bunch of different family dynamics that it could be [even without] an obvious adoption."

If you thought was awkward wait until you see what happens next. Bailey's co-host Southside Steve makes an ill-fated attempt at complementing Mara on her appearance saying:

"You're way, way hot. Why'd you cut the hair?" to which Mara sarcastically replied "This is a great interview."

Things get even worse as Steve directs his attention to Mara's toes telling her: "I'm a toe guy. Your toes are fine."

At this point publicists intervene and cut the interview short.
