'Batman v Superman' Update: Scoot McNairy Might Make An Appearance As Jimmy Olsen In 'Dawn Of Justice!' [PHOTOS]

It looks like there are more DC comic book characters joining the 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' cast!

'Argo' star Scoot McNairy has previously been reported to be a part of the 'Batman v Superman' cast. When McNairy's involvement was announced, it was previously speculated that he would portray The Flash, since the actor was seen wearing green CG socks on the set. However, the rumors immediately died as soon as it was announced that Ezra Miller would play Barry Allen.

So who will Scoot McNairy play in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' and why does he need those CG socks?

Heroic Hollywood has just confirmed reports that the actor will appear as Jimmy Olsen, who is a reporter and photographer for The Daily Planet. The character has not appeared in the Superman flick 'Man of Steel' but could play a crucial role in 'Dawn of Justice.'

But why the green CG socks?

According to Heroic Hollywood, Jimmy Olsen is one of the victims of the Black Zero event that took place when Superman (Henry Cavill) fought General Zod (Michael Shannon) in 'Man of Steel.' The reporter may have been pinned down in the rubble of The Daily Planet building, making him lose his legs.

Scoot McNairy has already been seen in the 'Batman v Superman' Comic-Con trailer, where he is found watching Superman march into court. There is a possibility that Jimmy Olsen would be covering the hero's hearing, or he could be called in as a witness to Black Zero.

Scoot McNairy has previously appeared in TV shows like 'Six Feet Under,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Bones' and 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.' He has worked with Ben Affleck on 'Argo' and 'Gone Girl.'

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is directed by Zack Snyder and will be released on March 25, 2016.
