CW's "The 100" was renewed for its 3rd season in January and fans could expect it would be aired again early next year. IBT reported that the show is about to have some musical makeover as well.
The show is set on a post-apocalyptic scene, 97 years to be exact after some nuclear weapon caused the destruction of the human race's civilization. Also in the story is the involvement of a spaceship that has some survivors and the people living there sent 100 juvenile delinquents back to earth to hopefully have the planet filled with humans again.
The new season will bring forth new musical surprises including the participation of Canadian singer Shawn Mendes. He was so excited about it that he posted on Instagram the announcement to his fans regarding his new gig. He posted a photo of him right on the show's trailer with a caption that says, "Hey GUYS !!! IM GUNNA BE ON #THE100 !!! SO EXCITED."
Jason Rothenberg is the man who included Mendes on the show that he also posted on his social media via Twitter his excitement regarding it. He is the creator of the show and he said on an interview with E! Online how he thinks Mendes is talented that he really fit the job. He also mentioned that the singer hit him up on Twitter telling him his interest on working with him for The 100. Rothenberg said, "He's a very talented artist, and we knew we wanted to do something special and different for the premiere. Shawn gave us a unique opportunity and I can't wait for our fans to see our collaboration."
As for the role that Mendes is going to play, rumor has it that he will be this scrappy and young survivor in a sticky situation.
