There is a downside to everybody's sugary treat. Everybody enjoys a nice can of soda as it is one of the most satisfying things in this world. Nothing beats an ice cold can of the sugary drink on a hot summer day. As reported on Mirror, soda prices increase twice as much during hot summer days, in which a soft drink would usually be the first drink most Americans grab when they're in heat. This sugary treat may be sweet, but it does come with a serious health risk up to a point that doctors took a step to at least minimize soft drink consumption over the years.

The report then sighted the movement that the doctors are making in which they are asking a help from the government to impose a 20% tax on those sugary drink to help them tackle the obesity crisis that's been a constant battle especially for America of the years, A senior dental surgeon supported this plea as it carries health warnings most especially the effects it makes on children's teeth.

Hundreds of studies are being done each year, one of which is the study by Tufuts University within Boston, USA, in which they looked into a date that surrounds the fizzy sugary drinks, and it was found to be one of the major causes of death due to medical complications such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. It was also said that these diseases have all been linked to high sugar consumption bought by these sugary thirst quenchers.

, "There are no health benefits from these sugar-sweetened drinks, and reducing our consumption could save tens of thousands of deaths each year."

As per Daily Mail's report in which they pointed out the irregularities in an individual's body function bought by substantial amount of sugary drinks intake. Three of which are:

  • Irregularities on a girl's period due to high sugar intake
  • Two cans of full sugar can be responsible in the advancement of cell aging
  • Women who drinks more than 3 sugary drinks a day can be of high risk for cancer
  • Fizzy drinks with a lot of sugary fruit juice have been linked to fatty liver
