Simon Cowell Congratulates Ex-1D Zayn Malik for RCA Deal

Simon Cowell's Syco label is behind the success of One Direction's multiple hits.  When Zayn Malik left the group March this year, he was not taken on by Syco as a solo artist. However, Cowell proves there is love shared when he was one of the first to congratulate Malik for his new RCA Deal.

'I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik's solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special' tweeted Cowell according to Time.

Malik recently posted photos of himself signing papers, believed to be contracts with RCA. In the same post, Malik also tweeted an explanation of his departure from his boy band.   'I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who I really am#realmusic #RCA !!'

Both RCA and Syco work with Sony Music Entertainment so there may be more of the Cowell link there.  'We have been working on this for a while', tweeted Cowell.

Malik is in good hands.  RCA is the same label for artists Alicia Keys, Mark Ronson, Justin Timberlake and A$AP Rocky. Reports say he will be working with record producer Malay, who has collaborated with Alicia Keys in some of her greatest hits.

It can be easily assumed Cowell greatly believes the talent of the 22 year-old singer.  Malik joined 'X-Factor', but was eliminated before the final round. Judges Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger put him together with fellow X-factor competitors Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson as one group with the name One Direction. The name is Styles' contribution. They auditioned as a group and moved on to win third place. They were then signed on by Cowell's Syco for 2 million GBP. They produced four albums, all commercial blockbusters. They will always be remembered for their hit song, 'What and their sold-out international concerts.
