Fox TV's Wayward Pines has finally ended its first season after 10 episodes on Thursday and everybody who saw it were shocked. Critics rated this show as one of the top scripted TV series this summer that caters to its audience ranging from 18 to 49. For those who don't know about the plot of this show, it is basically about a CIA agent who went to a place in Idaho called Wayward Pines to find two other agents who went missing in that place. After spending time in the area, he realized he wouldn't be able to come home alive.
Inquisitr reported that the critically acclaimed show ended the season with a huge access. Variety said that the finale made about 3.9 million views. Fans of the TV series were shocked knowing that the twist on its ending is not exactly the same as plotted on the original material where it was inspired from and it's a novel written by Black Crouch.
Now, here comes the spoiler of the finale. For those who have not witnessed it, three of the main casts died and they are Ethan (Matt Dillon), David Pilcher Toby Jones) and Miss Fischer (Hope Davis). Ben who was Ethan's son was hit by a falling debris, which eventually led him to a coma. He woke up from it after three years. Since he just got out of it, he learned that the Academy Students' First Generation now rules Wayward Pines. Meanwhile, Pilcher's death made him the savior of the people in the town even though he controlled their minds since he was a scientist.
The executive producer of the show is M. Night Shyamalan and he recently told Deadline how satisfied he is about how the show ended. He also said he is the type who wants to do some really intriguing twists on the end of a show and how he wants to end things backwards.
