'Star Trek Beyond' has found a new villain, and he happens to be a skilled martial artist!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Indonesian actor Joe Taslim has just been added to the Star Trek sequel's already stellar cast. The star of the impressive martial arts film 'The Raid: Redemption' is set to play yet another bad guy in 'Star Trek Beyond.'
The details on Joe Taslim's role in the film have not yet been revealed, although there are several speculations that he will have an important role alongside 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' actor Idris Elba. The star of 'Thor: The Dark World' has previously been confirmed to play the villain in 'Star Trek Beyond.'

Sofia Boutella, who has recently appeared as the deadly Gazelle in 'Kingsman: The Secret Service,' will also join the cast.
Joe Taslim started out as a model and actor in his native Indonesia before getting his big break in the Gareth Evans action film 'The Raid: Redemption.' He later appeared in the HBO Asia horror flick 'The Mine.' Taslim's first international film was the 2013 sequel 'Fast & Furious 6,' where he went up against Tyreese Gibson and Han Seoul-Oh.
It is no surprise that Joe Taslim has been cast in 'Star Trek Beyond,' since he has previously worked with director Justin Lin on 'Fast & Furious 6.'
Joe Taslim's Twitter account has also confirmed that he is already in Vancouver, where the film is being shot.
